Alistair’s research examines how technology affects processes of music creation, encompassing sound recording, composition, performance and collaborative works, performed electronics, generative and responsive technology, and human-computer interaction. His research outputs reflect professional and scholarly activity as a creator, recording engineer, collaborator and researcher.

Alistair completed his PhD at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music in 2022 investigating the relationship between improvised music and the recording process.
